1-800 Ask Gary

About Us

Gary Kompothecras, D.C., also known as "Dr. Gary," opened one of the first clinics to help people hurt in car accidents in 1996. His first goal was to put together a group of doctors and nurses who could take care of all of his patients' needs and help them get better. In that clinic and the ones that came after it, the medical staff grew to include M.D.s, D.O.s, Orthopedic Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Radiologists, Physician Assistants, D.C.s, Nurse Practitioners, and Massage Therapists.

There would be more new ideas. With the addition of high-tech medical equipment, Dr. Gary's group practice was able to find injuries that couldn't be found with traditional physical exams. This was often good for the patients because they didn't have to settle a claim with a vague diagnosis of "soft tissue injury." The orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and chiropractors who work at the practice have a lot of experience between them, so they can always provide the best care.

Over time, Dr. Gary was able to make the practice a more efficient and cost-effective way to help people who were hurt in car accidents. The change was important because a lot of patients didn't have health insurance other than the $10,000 in No-Fault benefits that came with their Florida car insurance. This was a new idea; finally, accident victims could get the kind of care and results that only the best doctors and diagnostic tools could give.

For Dr.Gary, the patients who trust Physician's Group, LLC with their medical care are always the most important thing. Because he cared about giving good care, his practice was the first one to be approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, which is now just called the Joint Commission. This accreditation is the gold standard for excellence in the whole healthcare industry, including big hospitals.

After talking to a lot of his patients, Dr. Gary realized that most of them didn't know about the health care benefits that came with their car insurance. The result was disturbing: many people who had been in accidents were suffering needlessly because they didn't go to a doctor. This realization led to the creation of the 1-800-ASK-GARY (1-800-275-4279) accident helpline, which tells accident victims what their rights are and lets them talk to a doctor or lawyer for free.

One of our first patients was an employee who became known as "ROZ" in TV ads. She went to the hospital after an accident and was so happy with the care she got that she wanted to tell her story herself. Roz wanted to share what she had been through, so she made a TV campaign with her in it. Her message, "Don't be scared or confused," was a big hit right away. Roz is still with us today, and she still appears on TV often to tell people who have been hurt in accidents to know their rights and use them. The reason Roz's story is so popular is simple: IT IS TRUE. The script for her first TV ad was made up on the spot. It was just her story, told in her own words, and it hit home with people who knew what it was like to not know who to turn to after an accident.

Dr. Gary registered the name 1-800-ASK-GARY (1-800-275-4279) as a trademark. It is now licensed to W.S. Media, Inc., which runs the ASK GARY Auto Accident and Injury Helpline you may know. Dr. Gary is still very committed to giving the best care possible to patients who deserve it. Dr. Gary and his companies have also given a lot of money to many causes that help the local community.
